PROFIL
"FALCON-106" is a solo project by "Mikiya Komaba".
I have been releasing works with a focus on techno, while changing the sound style each time. In recent years, I have returned to my roots and released works with a four-on-the-floor techno and new wave taste using vocoder.
I started my activities as a live techno act in 2001, mainly at club events in Tokyo. There was a time when I was actively performing live, but now I focus on releasing songs and distributing performance videos on the Internet.
In 2008, I started my own label to release my own works, and in 2017 I renamed the label "Vector Scan".
I have released 12 albums and mini albums online so far. I have participated in several compilations and released indie CDs and records.

ABBREVIATED CHRONOLOGY

2000~2003
In the 90s, I was active in bands, but around 2000, I started my solo career under the name "KOMABA" with the concept of performing techno live by myself.
At first, I only made demo recordings at home, but from 2001, I started performing as a techno live act at free raves at the Yoyogi Park outdoor stage and club events in Tokyo.
Using an AKAI MPC2000XL, I performed live in a style where I played instrumental techno tracks non-stop.
In 2001, I produced a limited edition of 100 copies of my self-produced 12-inch analog record, "Perfect Situation ep," which sold out.
I participated in the compilation CD "NEXT Floor Vol.1," a collaboration between the club magazine "FLOOR" and Toshiba EMI.
2004~2007
I used to play techno nonstop, but then I started incorporating guitar, vocals, and vocoder, and changed my style to a more human new wave style. I started performing live at various clubs and events.
In 2005, I released "The Komaba Strikes From A Sound System".
2008-2011
After performing live frequently, I took a break from public activities and focused on producing albums. In 2008, I started my own label, "Komaba Industrial", to release my own songs, and switched to prioritizing the release of my works.
I released three albums under the name "KOMABA", incorporating programmed sounds, guitar, vocals, vocoder, etc.
In 2008, I released "Satellite".
In 2009, I released "Framework".
In 2010, I released "Wire Gauge".

2011~2017
In my previous album, I had exhausted my guitar and vocal style songs, and the musical style I wanted to create began to change. Accordingly, in 2012, I changed my artist name to "FALCON-106".
As a new line, I started to create tricky beats that incorporated dub, hammer beats, odd time signatures, polyrhythms, etc., centered on instrumental techno, drum and bass, and EBM. I pursued a noisy, heavy, high-speed sound for several years.
In 2012, I released the first album "Beat Air Force" as "FALCON-106".
In 2013, I released "Intercept" and "Beat Battle Tank".
In 2014, I released "Delta Force".
In 2015, I released the mini-album "PMC".
I released "IRREGULAR CONSTRUCTION EP" from Tokyo Electro Beat Recordings.
Participated in "15 Years In Breakin' Beatz!!! TOKYO ELECTRO BEAT PARK 15th Anniversary Compilation".
Released "Holographic Sky" in 2017.
Changed the label name from "Komaba Industrial" to "Vector Scan".
2018~2025
After releasing "Holographic Sky", I felt that I had exhausted all the sounds I wanted to make at the time, so I ended my activities with the tricky and high-speed musicality that I had been pursuing for several years.
Then, I changed my direction again to a style that mixed four-on-the-floor techno with a new wave taste using a vocoder, and started producing.
In 2019, I released "Big Data".
In 2023, I released "CONNECT WITH OUR UNIVERSE".
I changed my activity style to a style where I would no longer perform live, but would distribute performance videos on the Internet.
In 2025, I established the "FALCON-106 Official Website".
I am currently producing background music under the alias "SOUND CONTROL PRODUCTION" while preparing a new album for "FALCON-106".
